Magic Keyboard inteferes with autofill of texted security codes

My wife just got an M4 iPad Pro and the Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad. We've noticed that when logging in to sites that require MFA, the security code does not autofill in Safari or Chrome. If we remove the iPad from the Magic Keyboard, the security code does pop up on the top of the virtual keyboard when you tap on the box to enter the code. Taping on the code autofills the box. Any workaround for getting the autofill to work while using the Magic Keyboard?
