How do I fix sound issues on Apple 3.5mm Earbuds on PC?

My old apple ear bud died and I have to swap it out for a new one and the sound quality is much worse and is muffled. It doesn't occur on mobile, only on pc. Is there some sort of audio setting that I can adjust?
