Verification code bypass for game downloads on child's iPad

Hi there,

my child’s iPad asked for the six digit verification code to download a game. I assumed it was another way around the “ask for permission” button. But now they are able to download whatever they like without notifying me. Is there anyway to turn it off/remove it?
