How do I change the column so that it orders it in month not day

Hello,

The dates in column A have been ordered by day and not month.

I would like it to read eg: 01/ 03 /2023, 02/03/2023, 03/03/2023, 01/04/2023 etc

MacBook Air, macOS 14.2

It's hard to tell from your screenshot, but is Number recognizing the values in the Date column as Date-Time (right-aligned by default) or as Text (left-aligned by default)? I'm guessing they are Text.

That could be because you are importing data twith dates in the dd/mm/yyyy format whereas your machine is set to a region that uses mm/dd/yyyy.

If that is the case, go to File > Advanced > Language and Region... and change to a region that uses the same format as the data. Import the data again, and switch back to your preferred region. The values should then sort in proper date order.
