Unable to create a directory for iCloud. Error 15

I’m at my wits’ end with this issue and I’m hoping somebody has a solution.

I have been using iCloud for Windows for years without issue. The Download, Upload and Share folders were on the NAS drive that contains my photos from all sources, designated as Y:.

I recently updated the iCloud app to the latest version. I realize that this version, for whatever reason, by default uses the User account on C: for folder locations. Once installed and logged into my iCloud account, I see the app has the OLD settings for folder locations…on the NAS drive…and can’t be changed. As a result, I get the error message ‘Unable to create a directory for iCloud. Restarting your computer might resolve the issue. (Error 15)’. Of course, restarting the computer made no difference.

How can I clear out these old folder locations settings pointing to the NAS, so as not to interfere with the new install?

Thanks in advance.
