Octopus card not showing on my Apple Wallet

Hello everybody,

I have an upcoming travel to Hong Kong and in preparation for my travel, I downloaded the OCTOPUS CARD APP for tourists on my iPhone. Tried topping up amounting to 95 USD, So the transaction went through smoothly but I don't see any OCTOPUS CARD NUMBER on the app or the amount that I topped up. Also, I did receive an error about Apple Pay not supported where I am right now.

so long story short the transaction went through I saw the transaction posted on my credit card but did not generate any OCTOPUS CARD number in fact I'm back on the main page where it says Add new Octopus card. I have spoken to the representative in HK but there was a language barrier.

I did check my Apple Wallet but I don't see any Octopus card number or anything.

Does anybody have an opinion on this or a recommendation on what should I do?

Any reply I would appreciate.

Hi, have you read through the instructions for updating transit cards to Apple Wallet?

If your transit card balance doesn't update in Apple Wallet - Apple Support

Please let me know if that resolves the issue. I may have some other thoughts on the matter.

You can try a forced restart. The step by step instructions are in the support article I linked to below.

Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Then follow these steps.

If your balance still doesn't update and you don't see the charge in your transaction history:

On your iPhone, open the Wallet app and tap your transit card.
Tap the More button , then tap Card Details.
If you see the option, turn on Service Mode, then authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
To turn off Service Mode, tap your card.

Hello Jeff, Thanks for the reply.

I did read through the instructions but I still have the same issue. Perhaps the main problem here is the country I'm currently in does not support Apple Pay.

Another thing I did is change the region to USA or HK and the Apple wallet works fine but I still can't see the amount that I topped up nor a Transit number from Octopus.

I believe once you add a new Octopus card you should see the amount sitting on the Apple Wallet with a number init. That's why I'm confused because I do see my transit cards from other country sitting on my Apple Wallet but not this Octopus card.

I did phone their customer service but there was a language barrier but she said if there was no Octopus card number generated then I should expect a refund but based on her tone of voice she sounded more confused than I am.
