Can you remove the tab/sheet bar in Numbers?

I don't really use tabs/sheets in my Numbers spreadsheets. If I bring up a spreadsheet there is some precious vertical space taken up by a tab/sheet bar showing the one and only sheet I'm working on. Is there a setting somewhere whereby if just one sheet is showing that this waste of space disappears. I get that if another sheet is created that then the bar can spring into life and start taking up space. The Finder does this dynamically i.e. unless there is more than one tab showing it doesn't waste showing a tab bar. I'm looking for the same thing in Numbers.
