What is the fundamental difference between the M processors

Some apps run on macbooks with m1 and m2 processor, but refuse to run on m3. Is there any difference in processor architecture between generations, or why this might be happening at all? If we take PC computers, everything also works properly when the processor is updated. Do the developers somehow optimize the application for m3?

Cider. Third-party Apple Music client. Maybe it is related to the OS and it should be reinstalled? I remember wine and winetricks also refused to start, although they worked on m1 and m2.

I would suggest asking for assistance in the Cider forum:

There seems to be issues with the latest release.

For details of the Cider app and its platform support, best check with the vendor. That app seems to be a JavaScript app. The vendor has a Discord available for questions, too.

For some idea of the many differences among myriad Intel x86 processors, and among AMD processors, review the available errata. Or better yet, don’t review the errata, because you’ll wonder how anybody can keep it all working.
