No keyboard combination has any effect on the problem. I believe it is an Intel macbook.

Hi,

Go to ``System Preferences'' > ``Network'' > select the network connection > click the ``Assist Me'' button > choose ``Diagnosis.'' This tool can help identify and potentially fix network issues. 4. **Renew DHCP Lease**: In the Network settings, try manually renewing the DHCP lease.

Hello

When I click 'Network' that is when the 'error' message appears and states 'there is an error in Network Preferences'. The only clue I can think of is that BT put up a lot of silly messages about 'dictionaries' that I had to get through before actually connecting at the other location. Other than that it is a mystery to myself.

regards

John
