Buying a Used MacBook: Scam Prevention

Hi 👋, how can I, as someone looking to buy a used MacBook with either an Apple silicon (M-series) chip or an Intel processor 💻, ensure I'm not purchasing a device that's MDM-locked 🔒 or has had an MDM bypass/hidden 🕵️‍♂️, and what steps can I take to avoid being scammed 💸 in this process? 🤔

Additionally, are there anything else that I should look for in the software before buying a used MacBook? 🧐

Furthermore, how can I know if the MacBook had some parts replaced/fixed? 🤔 Can I verify whether the repair and parts used to repair the MacBook are Genuine parts and not Counterfeit parts? 🤔

In my area, Apple doesn't offer a service for buying used MacBooks, and unfortunately, I'm not aware of any reputable shops that provide warranties on pre-owned devices. This means that if I'm looking to buy a used MacBook, thorough inspection beforehand is absolutely crucial.  Once the transaction is complete, sellers rarely, if ever, agree to returns or repairs if I discover a problem with the device later on.  It's a "buyer beware" situation, and I need to avoid getting stuck with a faulty machine.
