Folder naming issue Mac to PC

I'm often mistakingly saving file folder names with an extra space on the end (been typing a LONG time that way). Because of that, when I open a folder and do that, my PC co-worker can not open the file. Working hard to change my behaviour, but am old, and it's hard! Wondering if anyone has any suggestions as a fix if I do it in error......for him to be able to open the file.
