How can I recover files from OneDrive after an error on MacBook?

I have a persistent error message when i log in to my computer "“OneDrive” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Bin".

- if I do this, will I lose all the files I have in my One Drive or are they safely in the cloud and I just need to download a fresh copy of the App?

Moving the app to the trash will not cause you to lost the files stored in your local one drive folder or in the cloud.

Delete the app, then download the App Store version and sign into that.
