How do I get boarding passes in Apple Wallet to show as notifications on locked iPhone?

How do you get Boarding Passes, that are in your Appje Wallet, to show as a notification on a locked iPhone ? Is there a setting ?, or is it ‘in’ the boarding pass itself ?

Some airlines have a feature enabled that automatically displays the pass at the gate or displays a notification on Lock Screen that you tap to display the pass. I believe it’s the app that sends the notification and notifications must be enabled for the app on your iPhone.
