How to view a list of all email attachments before sending in Mac Mail?

Reposting this because the last time this was asked, I was not satisfied with the answer.

How can I view A LIST of all files I have attached to an email PRIOR to sending? I know I can see previews through Quick View and I know I can send to myself (which is utterly stupid), etc. But why is there not a "view attachments” option in Mac Mail? It would be so simple. I just want to view a simple list to make sure I have them all attached. The problem I have is sometimes I can see previews of my attached docs and sometimes not. Anyone?
