Mastercard Platinum Select Not Working Now in Apple Pay

My Citi Mastercard Platinum Select has always worked in Apple Pay until past few weeks and it just quit working. I have no issues whatsoever with the card so why is this happening. Has made automatic payments an issue as well. What goes? I have the Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max.

Citi Mastercard had too many tokens stored in the secure element and when they deleted them and refreshed my card I was able to enter my card info in Apple Wallet and all works now. Thank you!

Apple has no control over cards in Apple Wallet. Apple only adds encrypted data supplied by the bank to Wallet app. Apple does not have a key to decrypt the data. Only your iPhone and the bank have the key.

If there is an issue with the card it’s either an issue with the bank or Mastercard. A common issue is the bank having too many tokens stored in the Secure Element. Your bank should be able to see their tokens and can delete/reset the tokens.

When you attempt an Apple Pay transaction using the card, what exactly happens? Any notifications or error messages? If so exactly what do they say?
