Why are my wired earbuds too loud on iPhone 15?

Earbuds are too loud at the lowest volume achievable by pressing the volume buttons, yet too quiet when I try to turn it down with the on screen slider. You can clearly hear the jump, it's like the volume only goes from 100% to 40%, and then it jumps to 5%- 1%.

iPhone volume is too loud, even at the lowest option on the volume slider. I am on an iPhone 15, which is updated to iOS 17.1.2. Recently I’ve been having an issue with the volume, which is extremely loud for whatever reason. I typically use the Airpod Max, but the lowest volume was too loud, so I decided to use wired earbuds and an adapter, which still didn’t resolve the volume issue. The only way I can manage to get normal sounding audio is when I don’t have headphones or earbuds connected. If anyone could help I’d be so grateful, thanks! :D

my right earbud (wired) is significantly quitter than the right so when I was watching a video on a phone, I noticed that one of the earbuds was just a little quieter than the other. I tried cleaning it out and they both worked fine. So I tried cleaning them out a little more and then, the right earbud isn't making much sound anymore. There is still sound but at full volume, it sounds muffled and quiet. These earbuds are new. Does anybody know why this is happening?

It may be possible that these earbuds are defective. Did you just get them? What brand are they? ... and is this issue only with using them with your iPhone 15?
