iMessage Not Receiving Messages After Logging Back In

Hi guys,

Recently, i logged out of my iMessages on mac. When i logged back in, there was no new messages even though my mates had been sending messages the past few days I was logged out. I had seen on other computers, they had DMed me but none of it went through to my side and I had no message history from after I logged out. I am able to send messages out but not receive anything past Friday 28th. I am using an apple id (xxxx@gmail.com) to text my mates and not a phone number. I do not own an iPhone or any apple ecosystem devices besides my 13" M1 Macbook Air. I have logged back in and out, Restarted my laptop multiple times, run it dead completely. but nothing has worked so I am not able to see the messages they send when I was logged out of messages.
