How to recover iPhone videos converted to .jpeg after transferring to MacBook?

Hi! I just really need your help regarding this matter. Last month, I transferred all my photos and videos from my iPhone to my Macbook Finder due to full iCloud storage. Today, I've noticed that the videos that I transferred automatically converted to .jpeg. I am trying to convert it again to video format but there is no way I can do it. Can you please help me recover all my videos that are automatically converted. Those videos are very sentimental to me and I really need to fix this issue.

Thank you!

I guess that is the same as drag 'n drop which has obviously copied only .jpeg thumbnails of those movies (if their file size is tiny they are thumbnails of the much larger movies). Can you try the copy again via File > Export or from iCloud web Photos export? Or from a backup?
