Reset cards on phone deleted them entered them back in manually, works for Apple Pay on websites etc, but when tapping in shops doesn’t work on both cards, will work once or twice throughout the day but 99% of the time doesn’t work, phone up to date also with latest IOS

So, both cards work using Apple Pay, but not at some merchants, is that correct? Is it always the same merchants that Apple Pay doesn’t work at? What is the error message that appears on the terminal or is there no message at all? Do you use a heavy, waterproof type case?

iPhone up to date with iOS 18.5 it’s an iPhone 16
yes both cards don’t work at merchants I’ll double tap to bring cards up and it just doesn’t register with the machines with no message or error popping up I just have to use my actual card then

When you say double tap, do you mean double click the side button (power button)? Apple Pay is activated by double clicking the side button, authorizing the transaction using Face ID, and selecting the card to use? Is that how you’re doing it?

You said it works once or twice a day? Does it work only at specific merchant or when it works it’s random and no apparent pattern?

Yes exactly that it’s every merchant it doesn’t work at all
and this problem only starting occurring in the last 7-10 days

normal clear case off Amazon that I’ve used for years
