How can i copy filtered rows in Numbers to a new table?

So I like to import my business bank balance into Numbers where I can do all kinds of fancy things.

I really like the new-ish Filter option so I can , e.g, show only rows containing certain text.

This makes it easy to make a report on transactions to/from a particular entity.

The most obvious thing to do then, is copy those rows (and only those rows) to a new table where I can manipulate, format, and do even more fancy things without the other 1000s of rows.

So is there really no way to copy those rows into a new table all at once? (one by one suggestions wont work for me, there's just too many rows for that to be practical)

The filter function is powerful. To copy the results of a filter to another table:

First have a destination table ready.

Then:

  1. Select the visible cells in the filtered table
  2. Command-c to or Edit > Copy to copy
  3. Click once in a cell of the destination table
  4. Command-v or Edit > Paste and Match Style to paste.

Amazing! It does work with those specifics.
I've been mislead by answers from elsewhere.

The key specifics are to have a destination table ready set up and click a cell just once before pasting into it.

The FILTER function, just added to Numbers, is a formula-based approach. You could also copy-paste from its results.

For your purposes, though, filtering through the built-in interface functionality is probably quicker and easier.
