Making iCloud folder sharing work for Pages and Keynote files

Hello, can someone please tell me if I can share folders via iCould for collaboration with someone else? I am using a new iMac and have tried this in so many different ways - even asking ChatGPT for advice. But it just does not work. I always get an error message. ChatGPT says that this is normal and that I should ultimately just use a different provider. I would love to share a folder to easily update files and save them in apple formats like pages, keynote etc. When I use pCloud e.g. I cannot use Pages (or just download them, but not edit directly). Flow would be wonderful. Thank you.
