Is this a newer Scam? Apple Support Really!!!

Got a text stating that I had a pending Apple Pay at Apple Store Orlando Fl in the amount of $598.44 as well as multiple log in attempts. Checked the phone # and it belongs to a person with multiple listings. Checked my Apple account and it does not show any such pending purchase. I will be checking my account for the next few days, just to be sure!

Scam. A common one, too. Ignore it. Among the other lies, fraud detection works by blocking the transaction until you contact your financial provider and release it. There’s no countdown timer. It stays blocked. The rest of that message is rubbish, too.

It’s a scam.

“Don't answer suspicious phone calls or messages claiming to be from Apple. Instead, contact Apple directly through our official support channels.”

”To report a suspicious SMS text message that looks like it's supposed to be from Apple, take a screenshot of the message and email the screenshot to reportphishing@apple.com.”

You can report phishing at these links and most importantly your local law enforcement.
