Can I change white text in Contacts notes on iOS 26?

In addition to what I said earlier, open the contact card, Click Contact Photo & Poster (if available for that contact) and select the dark blue colored option for the Poster. In System settings under Accessibility, go to Per-App Settings (second from the bottom option), Add App and select Contacts. Turn off Reduce Transparency.

Wouldn't you know it, as soon as I posted my previous reply I read that they fixed it. Yes they did thank God. I kept getting updates from Apple because I was beta testing IOS 26. I'll never do the beta testing again. This subject was one of the first notes I sent to Apple about 26. I'm happy they addressed the issue.

My eyesight is not as good as it once was, so the white text on pale lavender background is very difficult to read. Certainly, when out and about, it cannot be read in a hurry. None of the mentioned fixes makes it any better for me. I’ve used notes extensively in contacts, so I’m going to try populating other fields with the most important and oft used notes. Here’s hoping Apple are reading this lot and fix in the next instalment.

Text in the body of a contact is fine (black). It’s Notes within a contact that eveyone is complaining about. Only Notes!

I am older and find this white text very difficult to read. Increasing contrast also does not help.

I, too, think that black or dark text would be much easier to read, and believe that this change would be a significant improvement - The same information displayed on my iMac with Tahoe is in black, and gives a pleasant experience.

I note that the recommendations for Color in the human interface guidelines Color | Apple Developer Documentation

state: Avoid using colors that make it hard to perceive content in your app. For example, insufficient contrast can cause icons and text to blend with the background and make content hard to read...

I hope that this post is read as a request to help improve the product - My previous post was removed as "not constructive".

This latest iOS update. It’s really a disaster. Can’t read the white notes in my contacts section. Dictation clearly gets words wrong more times than not finger touch element on screen is jittery. Poor performance very poor.

Yeah, I’m having the same issue and I reached out to support and submitted feedback. It’s horrible that I can’t see the text in notes and can’t change the font to black.

This wasn’t throughly tested before being released

I have reached out to Apple immediately after the update. They responded like a deer in the headlights, even after trying it themselves with screen share acknowledging it was difficult to see.
