Calendar Search not working on my iPhone 8

I have two iPhone 8's - on one the calendar search works but on hte other it does not. I have tried removing the app and reinstalling it; I have tried onder siri and search toggling all of, waiting five minutes and toggllinb back on without success; calendar search works on my desktop and laptop as well; any ideas?
