cannot save calendar invites using Outlook App Calendar due to Microsoft Intune Protected Apps policy

I have iOS 25.0

We have Intune deploy at work, yes we have strong security policy/posture!

I have a personal iOS device and we have a "Bring your own device" policy at work.

Problem - cannot save calendar invites to outlook calendar.

When I get event/calendar emails and attempt to save the .ics in my outlook calendar our company blocks this functionality because by default the iOS calendar is not a protected app. So as soon as the .ics tries to open iOS tried to open the iOS Calendar and this breaches Intune. I can choose to save the .ics but that ends up being saved in the Edge App on iOS and there is no way to import that into Outlook Calendar App

I cannot add a new calendar to iOS either as that also results in an error because Apple Internet Accounts is also not a protected Intune App Error Code is 53009

So my work around is to wait to get back to my Windows 11 laptop and hope to remember the calendar appointment that still needs to be saved in my M365 Outlook App on Windows 11.
