Since update the OS l cannot open an apple pages document with a fingerprint

All my Apple Pages documents opened with my fingerprint until recently. Now, even after accepting my fingerprint, it still asks for a password. The same option in Apple Numbers works fine. I am using an iPad (A16) running 26.0.1. The Pages app is version 14.4 (7372.0.92). My wife's iPad which is older doesn't have this problem. That is an iPad (7th Generation) running 18.6.2 with the same version of Pages.
