How to change order of guides in Apple Maps
I would like to change the sequence of guides shown to me in Apple Maps
i can not figure out how to do so

There doesn't seem to be an option to reorder Guides in Maps, either in iOS or MacOS.
Best option at this point is to use Feedback - Maps for iOS and iPadOS - Apple to request a feature improvement.
