"New" FaceTime doesn't allow deleting past calls?

I made the mistake of updating to Tahoe and don't care for the changes at all. I'm writing today specifically about a change in FaceTime behavior.

When I start FaceTime the left side of the window is filled with large blocks that show previous calls in a pictorial format whereas before there ws only a list of the phone numbers/users.

There appears to be no way to either switch to the list rather than the icons nor is there a way to delete calls.
