VO₂ Max / Cardio Fitness not showing up in Health app even after outdoor run
Hey all — I could use a sanity check here.
Yesterday I did a 10 K outdoor run (logged with the native Apple Workout app, not a third-party app).
- Duration: 1 hr 04 min
- Avg HR: 148 bpm
- GPS + heart-rate data both recorded perfectly
- Effort: “Moderate”
- Watch: awu3
- iPhone + Watch both updated to the latest OS
The run appears normally in Apple Fitness, but Health › Heart › Cardio Fitness still says “No Data.”
I already verified:
- Motion & Fitness tracking is enabled
- Cardio Fitness is turned on for Apple Watch in Health › Cardio Fitness Settings
- Height, weight, age, and sex are filled in
- Low-power mode and power-saving options are off
Still nothing.
Does anyone know what else could block the Watch from writing a VO₂ max sample to Health?
Is there some hidden permission or sync trigger I might’ve missed?
Appreciate any insights from folks who’ve dealt with this before 🙏
