Can't restore Time Machine backups from NAS

I recently purchased a Synology 923+ NAS and followed the company's instructions to set up Time Machine - https://kb.synology.com/en-us/DSM/tutorial/How_to_back_up_files_from_Mac_to_Synology_NAS_with_Time_Machine. The backups appear to be working fine, but the issue is that I'm unable to restore from them. I just get a white spinning wheel and the 'Restore' button never becomes clickable, as seen here:

I've tried many troubleshooting steps using Gemini and I also tried connecting directly with ethernet instead of wifi. Thanks for any support.
