Microsoft 365 family subscription not recognized

I purchased Microsoft 365 family subscription through the app store. I bought a new mac and can't install the subscription after logging in to my apple account and going to the app store. The app stores shows the individual apps for download, but not the subscription package. When I go to my Apple account the subsciption is there.

So I tried to download the individual apps one at a time through the Apple app store, but it says

I need to activate my Microsoft 365 subscription. I entered my Microsoft info and it can't find my subscription info. Tried to go to microsoft support, but their site says "If your subscription is not listed, it’s possible that the purchase made through the Apple App Store hasn't been correctly linked to your Microsoft account." Seems I am in an infinite loop between Apple and Microsoft. Need help.
