Macbook Air Microphone Issue

My Macbook Air Microphone has suddenly stopped working - the speakers are fine but the microphone just stops working. It gets ok for the session when I restart the system but then again once the macbook sleeps, the same issue again. I am facing it on Google Meet, Whatsapp Calls, Video and Audio both

Further checked. The Mac microphone works perfectly well for all sorts of usage once the Mac is restarted. But once it goes to sleep and it wakes up again, the microphone stops to work. The speakers however work fine even at that stage.
