ios 26.1 siri not working in carplay

Last night, I updated to iOS 26.1. This morning, trying to get CarPlay connected was an extreme challenge, but I managed to get connected. Once connected, absolutely nothing with Siri would work. There is no voice recognition option available. It just doesn’t respond at all. I have rebooted the head unit in the car as well as my phone. I have disconnected the phone from the car and remove CarPlay from the phone and re-added everything to no avail. Any advice would be greatly appreciated on how to fix this. The problem has only existed since upgrading to iOS 26.1.
