iPad photo syncing issue with Windows laptop after latest iPadOS update

Hi all.

What has changed in the latest ipados update? I ask because before this update I had no issue syncing my photos. Now when I sync using my windows laptop it says remove and sync so I click it, it then goes straight to reading photos then I go bed (as the transfer normally takes hrs) however when I wake it is stuck on waiting for changes to take effect and nothing else happens. It does this using iTunes and apple devises. If this doesn’t get sorted I can honestly say this will be the last iPad I ever own.

Any advise would be much appreciated
