Contacts disappeared and won't sync correctly on iPhone 13 Pro Max

My contacts disappeared and won’t reappear or sync correctly. Saved numbers are no longer saved and my profile doesn’t sync completely. Does anyone have any solutions or is there a way to get the backup before it backed up the screwed up version of my contacts?
