Apple News app and external subscriptions

Recently the News app has logged me off all my news feeds for News Corp (Australia) papers and won't let me log back in.

It appears the only way I can get to them now is by subscribing to News+ which would be making me subscribe twice. I have a subscription with News and don't need News+ as well. Maybe I'll just have to delete the app....

To be clear, my subscriptions are external and I used to be able to use the News app to login to each of them. Now the process just hangs when trying to do this.

Any suggestions?

Exact same thing has happened to me. Any login attempt loads endlessly without success.

Thought it might have been because I just updated to iOS26, but the same thing is happening with my iPad.

Not keen on deleting and reinstalling Apple News as I’ll have to setup all the news channels and subjects I’m following. Let me know if you have any luck.

Maybe it's because I have a new phone and Apple won't stop offering me 3 months of free News+ (which includes those subscriptions). Can I permanently get rid of this offer?
