'mas upgrade' command stopped working after macOS update (Tahoe 26.1)

After updating macOS, the 'mas upgrade' command doesn’t update any App Store apps anymore. It used to work perfectly in Terminal before the latest update. Has anyone else run into this? Any alternative commands or workarounds?

It would be helpful if you post your command...

if this is part of a brew package— start there for known issues/workaround/update

if it is an default Apple issue—

you can file a bug report / submit your Apple Feedback here: Product Feedback - Apple

I too have been experiencing odd mas command inability to complete updates recently, it will report an app from the Mac app store needing an upgrade but will fail the process to install after years of working as expected. Oddly when I first go to the App Store it won't actually show the app as needing an update, if I click on the app then it will eventually offer the update button. I believe this odd behaver is what is confounding the mas function as well. At this point is only useful at alerting me that there is an update.

Just more info...

Command: mas outdated && mas upgrade

or just

Command: mas upgrade

Error: Error Domain=PKInstallErrorDomain Code=201 "Não foi possível iniciar a instalação." This is odd! And it seem to me to be a problem with Mac App Store in MacOS 26.1.
