Why can’t I add my passport to Digital ID?

I've previously replied to that I meet all the criteria you listed.

At the time Katana-San posted that, it doesn't appear that you had given those answers. I suspect that you're being misled by the sort order. The forum doesn't default to chronological order so it can be quite confusing. Go to the top of the page, just under the To-ranking reply. At the left, you'll see "Sort by." Select either "Oldest" or "Newest" from the drop down. That should help make things clearer.

That wouldn't surprise me in the least. Even though getting a profile in the NIH grant submission system is entirely an automated procedure, it stopped working during the shutdown because, apparently, they turned off all the automated outgoing emails. Anything that requires actual human intervention is going to be rough to get done for a while.

Maybe but the Apple Advisor said the tokens should expire within 72 hours. At this point I’m thinking it’s a demographic problem. The advisor even told me she had trouble because of a toner she had applied. It worked when she removed it.

Just tried to use the Digital ID at FLL and it failed. Gave an error on the first attempt at scanning and then nothing. TSA guy said that they are aware of issues. I give him props for knowing what I was trying to do because some officers look at me like I have two heads when I say I want to scan my digital id.

Installed 26.2 last night and tried adding the passport this morning. Still broken. I’ve tried on two different phones with no success. Apple’s gone from “It just works” to “It might work, it might not. We don’t know.” One month and not fix.

Touchless ID is separate from using your MobileID as a travel credential.

It uses facial scanning, and is linked to your Airline reservation and boarding pass.

I’ve used it frequently at ORD and also at SFO and IAD.

The only credential presented at the TSA checkpoint is — quite literally — your face.

Is it a US passport? If not what country is it?

I am having this issue too. Just did three rounds of scanning chip and Live Photo, but still get told that my ID cannot be added.

This is where I'm stuck. Using a 15 Pro on 26.1 and I can't get the chip to scan for the life of me.

Has anyone had any difficulty adding the passport to an Apple Watch? Mine consistently fails. I get the "Unable to Connect to Wallet Services" error. Thank you.

The photos need to match pretty closely. You may need to renew the passport with a current photo to get it to verify.

Currently, it’s scheduled to be rolled out to about 250+ airports. But it appears the vast majority of airports have not enabled their systems yet.
