Internet sharing not working on Tahoe (create adhoc network)

Internet sharing not working on Tahoe (create adhoc network). When got my Macbook Air on Sonoma I was able to create an adhoc network (sharing LAN via wifi) that I could use to connect virtualDJ remote. I upgraded that to Tahoe and also got a Macbook Pro but now when doing exactly the same no network is being created on either laptop for my tablet to connect to. Settings are correct and sharing is switched on but no network is there to connect to. Any help please?

I had not tried this in some time.

I take it that you your Mac is connected to the internet via a wired Ethernet connection, and that you are sharing that via Wifi.

I connected my MacBook Pro using Ethernet, and I turned on Internet Sharing in

System Settings->General->Sharing.

It took perhaps a minute or two before the new Wifi network appeared as an option in my iPad, but when it did,

I was able to connect the iPad to this adhoc network, and access the internet with it, and it worked fine.

Interestingly enough, internet speeds on the iPad were actually better than what I get from my home wifi, as my home office is in the basement and away from the router.
