Dictation Repeating Content for Visually Impaired Users

I am trying to start using dictation to better write emails and other documents but I am also visually impaired and need the speech selections option enabled to read the text on the screen. My dictation is being duplicated and I have gotten a good microphone, it is quiet in the room. I read that this can be improved by turning accessibility speech off but this doesn't help those that are visually impaired like me. It seems that those in the visually impaired community would benefit most from ability to dictate text but it is counter intuitive if they must turn off screen speech. Any suggestions or others having this issue that are visually impaired?
