MacBook Air M4 Apple logo has scratches, can it be fixed

Hi,

I have a macbook air M4 2025, and it is still in warranty. But the apple logo on the lid is having many scratches now and I don’t like it when it is visible at certain angles, is this can be fixed by Apple, or can be replaced with a new mac? I don’t have apple care so not want to pay a huge cost just for the scratches.

Even if you had AppleCare it would not be covered if it was considered to be "cosmetic damage".

Click on this link to take you to the page about Apple warranties, then select your device and country --> Legal - Hardware Warranties - Apple

If you really wish to pursue this further:

Click here --> Mac Repair and Service - Apple Support

Enter the information in the Get Estimate window.

or:

Go to this page to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Apple Authorized Distributor (AAD) --> Find Locations

How to make a Genius Bar appointment

1. Go to Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

2. Go to "Get hardware help".

3. Select your hardware and continue selecting options requiring replacing parts until you see "Bring in for Repair"

4. Sign in with your Apple ID

or:

Refer to this document for ways to contact Apple ➞ Choose your country or region - Official Apple Support

Select your country (also look for "other" regions), then a product. If you don't see one that handles your issue then keep experimenting with selections until you reach one that gets you a chat session or a telephone call and get the representative to redirect you.

As you will likely be funding this yourself, understand that what you seek is a very pricey undertaking.

What we know: Your upper unit or "lid" is one sealed assembly. Should any component of that assembly fail or suffer damage, even cosmetic, the entire assembly must be replaced. Individual components of the assembly cannot be separated serviced or replaced.

We are not Apple and cannot make cost estimates, but other forum users posting their experiences here say the display assembly service starts about US$550 and goes up with screen size. That was before the current steep jump in prices for tech components.

You can pay for the repair, buy a new computer, or live with it.

Remember that, as we are your fellow end users and not Apple, we cannot give you official or binding answers here. As wisely recommended by my colleagues here, have Apple evaluate to get an official answer.
