I can’t connect to Apple TV on my TCL television with Google TV. It’s says to check the internet connection, which is fine. I can open Netflix, but not Apple. It has worked fine for about 18 months and has just started giving me this problem.
I have tried deleting the Apple TV app and reinstalling, then logging in through my phone, but then the TV refreshes and I get the same “can’t connect” error message.

I’m having the same issue on my Lg TV running webOS. The Apple TVO has been working fine, but tonight I started receiving the “couldn’t connect”.
none of my the other apps are having an issue connecting.
when I uninstalled and reinstalled the Apple TV app, before I logged in, it was able to connect to the internet and play the intro video’se etc. however, as soon as I logged in, I received the could not connect error.
No issue accessing Apple TV content on my phone.
Happening to me too on tv using Roku stick and a Roku tv after switching to Apple one. Following this to see what nonsense Apple comes up with this time as the usual fixes don’t work. And it’s not the internet as that’s working like a charm.
I am having the same issue. Yesterday I could watch Apple tv app on my TV via mobile hotspot (Samsung Galaxy). No change to settings but tonight I am getting the "can't connect, no internet " message but I can access all the other streaming services. Have refreshed TV and restarted the phone, all software up to date.
So it isn’t just me, then. I’m having the same issue with the TV app on an Apple TV 4K (3rd gen.) The status page says everything is working, but it apparently is not.
