Apple TV shows 'network fault' despite other apps working

Apple TV was working fine on our post 2020 Sony tv but now says network fault. All the other apps are fine so it’s not a network issue or the tv. Any advice?

Since other apps work, it’s usually the Apple TV app itself bugging out or losing its connection token. First thing to try is force stopping the Apple TV app and reopening it.


If that doesn’t help, log out of the Apple TV app and sign back in, or uninstall and reinstall the app if the TV allows it.
