How to best manage Apple ID passwords for family?

hi, looking for advice on how best to manage Apple ID passwords for family.

Apple ID passwords are not stored in Keychain or the newer Passwords in a way that users can access. I gather this is for security reasons.

I think that would be fine if biometric (eg. fingerprint) worked every time. However, what frequently happens when you have multiple devices is sign-in requires password. Assuming it's a system generated strong password, then it's impossible to remember, more so after a few months. Which means that I have to write it down somewhere, which I understand is a security risk.

Is there a better way?

If you like, there are assorted password manager software products out there. 1Password is a popular one. Personally, I have used Keeper Password Manager for years.

Mine is stored in Passwords.I use it all the time for logging into all of the Apple sites and for sites and apps that I've set up to use "Sign in with Apple." Also, there's nothing to stop you from putting any passwords you want into Passwords.

Obviously, this doesn't help if you need it to log into your device, say when restoring it. So you do need to have access to it somewhere else in an emergency.

My Apple Account password I can remember since I am using it daily to log into this site (log time helper). However, I also have it, and all my other passwords, written down on a piece of paper in a secure location.

Note that some web browsers also have secure password encryption with a master password. Make sure that master is really good but then you only have to remember one password.
