iMac recognized but JVC Smart 4K TV shows no input found

Hello All.

I am attempting to watch a film on my JVC Smart 4K tv LT-43C890 via my new iMac.

In System Preferences - Display, it shows the TV and also mirror it. (see image)

In System Preferences - Sound, I also select the TV from the listing.

Yet no input is found on the TV eventhough it registers. (see image).

Just seems weird that the JVC settings won't pick up the iMac, yet the Settings shows it is connecting. (HDMI2).

I have no problem connecting and watching a very old Sony TV. (see image).

I also don't have a problem connecting the Tv to my old MacBook Pro or my daughter's latest MacBook Pro.

Any ideas please?

1 - Your LT-43C890 has 3 HDMI inputs. Have you selected the correct input in the TV? Your Mac would detect the the TV even if your TV is not set for the correct input.

2 - Current iMac models support external displays via Thunderbolt 4 or Displayport. In either case you must be using some kind of adapter. What USB/C display adapter & what cable are you using?

3 - Your Sound screenshot indicates a Displayport connection to the TV. This does not look right. Your LT-43C890 does not support Displayport. And in any event although the Displayport standard allows audio most implementations do not support audio over DP; and in my experience Macs do not.

Please describe your complete setup in detail.
