Unable to reset sons password

I’m trying to reset my son’s password, but it’s telling me my phone is too new or something “ because this device is a new device it can’t be used to edit your account information yet.”


I reset the password for him like two days ago and I am able to reset the password for my daughter. This is a little alarming that I can be locked out of my family share security settings for any reason whatsoever. Especially since my children both young under 13. Both devices are are well established and are not new by any means.
