Why does my iPhone charge me so much data when I’m always connected to wifi?

So I use the Apple Music app that costs $10 a month and it is saying that, that app has used over 10gbs of data. I’m always connected to wifi and I have downloaded all the music I listen to and so I can listen to it offline so there should not be any data charge. Any ideas of why it’s doing that? I do have an iOS update from12.1.2 to 12.3.1 is that why?

Please check the following:

  • You can turn off cellular data use for specific apps completely.
  • There is a setting for Wi-Fi Assist, which allows the use of cellular data when Wi-Fi connectivity is poor. That may cause surprise data use.
  • You have to reset the statistics manually, or it keeps adding to previous month.

Both options are in Settings﹥Cellular﹥
