my ipad is disabled

my ipad is disabled and says connect to iTunes. I have connected it to my computer, though my computer doesn't seem to recognise it.

Once it gets to that state, you may be left with restore option. If it doesn't see it in itunes when you connect the ipad, follow this article

If you can't update or restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
