Moving from Android to iphone after initial setup

The question has been asked how to use Move to IOS app after initial setup, and only answer provided is that you cant and to use Copy My Data app on both devices. This does not move text message history which is very important. Does anyone know how to move text messages to IOS?

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 12

This is correct. You can't. And the manual data transfer does not move messages.

The Move to iOS app process must be initiated from the setup assistant which is only available after erasing your new device.
