iTunes not responding on iMac

Have a new iMac. iTunes was originally working. Had plugged in External Hard Drive and listened to some music, connected my iPhone and also synced music. Installed Office 2019 also. iTunes was still working fine. Next day iTunes won't even open, just comes up with 'not responding'. Have tried reinstalling. What do I do?

You can try:

  • Rebooting your Mac
  • Launching iTunes in safe mode by holding down option+command as you start iTunes
  • Launching your Mac in in safe mode by holding down shift as you start it
